Basketball Drop-in Centers

Got Game? Know someone who thinks he or she does? As an alternative to having a Campus Life Club, YFC sponsors regular basketball nights for some high schools.

Basketball drop-in centers generally have 3-on-3 tournaments, and may have additional fun things to do (board games). A fun and positive place to "hang."

During the meeting, a break in the tournament gives kids a chance to rest. A speaker may give his or her testimony, or a short talk. Then a snack, and the rest of that day's tournament!

Winners are often rewarded with a hat, a t-shirt or maybe a free meal

Drop-in centers:

  • Give teens a place to hang with friends, "off the street"
  • Give teens a positive, adult-chaperoned environment
  • Give encouraging and/or provoking talks
  • Give teen the opportunity to be cared for personally by adult youth leaders
  • Give teens information on YFC events, trips, overnighters

Drop-in centers draw many teens that might never be interested in a regular Campus Life meeting, but love sports or like to hang with friends.
